Easter update. |
14th April |

Thanks very much to our early season customers who have been blessed with a mixture of sun and rain! It has been a busy start to the season with an instructor course for this years new recruits, some powerboat training for club racing and Feva training for our new blossoming Feva fleet. Well done to St Mawes SC for again putting their hands into their pockets to support their junior sailors with three new Fevas to compliment their Pico and Oppy fleets. Thanks also to Mike for all his hard work getting JST up and ruuning for the season. Best wishes to Curly and Sophie for their new SI roles at the club. We are now looking forward to the next three weekends for some sporting action. We host SW windsurfing this weekend for training and racing, on the 25th and 26th we hold a RS Feva weekend, training Saturday and Open meeting on Sunday and the bank holiday weekend sees the William Peters crew competing in the World Pilot Gig champs in Scilly and several of the windsurf team competing at the first UKWA event at Weymouth!!!! Busy Busy! |

Well it's been a very busy April! The sun shone and the wind blew (some of the time) and we did get a bit of rain! The middle of the month saw South West Windsurfing come to town and we had a glorious weekend of cruising and racing. Sat' had 28 boards cruise over to Mylor the smallest on a 1.8 sail, well done Charlie and the largest on the new race boards and a 9.5 sail. Special thanks to Pete and Rob at Wescountry watersports for their loan of the new Starboard race boards. For full results see www.southwestwindsurfing.org.uk

Fever or was it Feva? |

Last weekend saw a new event for us, a RS Feva open weekend of training and racing. Saturday brought grey skies, rain and loads of wind. The crews battled well to put up with a morning of training on the beach with Dunc and Bob. In the afternoon a few brave souls from Torquay took to the river in kayaks, a safer bet! Sunday saw a complete change, improving weather and good sailing winds. We ran five races, the sailing was very competative with strong performances from boats from all the participating clubs. I'll post full results soon, but congratulations to Rob and Herbie for winning and well done to Nat and Christian, second place, perhaps they'll be giving up their windsurfer and Oppy? |

The recent hot weather has coincided with the start of our On Board season working with the local schools. At present Veryan, Gorran, Trispen, Tregony and Truro school are all enjoying sailing time with us. The most popular activity by far has been capsizing! Let's hope the weather holds a bit longer. |

October has been gentle and half term has seen the last of the teaching action at Percuil, with an unexpectedly busy week. That's it for 2009. It seems no time ago we were looking forward to the season and now we're starting to think about 2010 another decade! Keep watching the site and we'll keep you up to date with all the action, while winter windsurf training gets started this weekend for zone and national squads. Good luck Gemma, Nat, Lucy, Nick and Ross! |
